Inevitable it is (An Oratorical Piece)

          F-E-A-R. Fear. We could spell the word fear as very plain as that. Apparently, many of us just look on how  fear can move us, can motivate us, can hold us, or even how it can kill us so uncomplicatedly, that every time we just hear it normally, ignorance is our best friend. But the time that we experience this already, it do made our pants wet, seriously.

          Once a friend, while we’re walking along the road, quoted randomly, “Fear is inevitable.” And, yes. I strongly agree. Inevitable it is. In much aspect of our lives, fear is inevitable. And today, in boldness and reality, as students striving really, really hard to achieve our largest dreams life, somehow, we aim for greatness. We ought to be as great as those people we look upon or even much greater than them. Yet, fear is inevitable, and sometimes, unconsciously, we fear greatness not a way too far on how we fear darkness. And nonetheless, it kills.

          Greatness was defined by the Webster’s 1913 Dictionary as, “The state, condition, or quality of being great; as greatness is size, greatness of mind, power, and etc.” Simply, greatness is being great. But then definitely, I, personally, I can’t see anything bad or worthy to be feared about being great. Yet sometimes, it is.

          Yes, greatness must not be a cue to be afraid, but what is in it. I just read while I’m browsing one of my social media accounts, not remembering who wrote it or even when it is written, saying in a non verbatim manner, “We are not being afraid of darkness, but we do fear what is in it.” Indeed. And I do believe that with all greatness, with the mind, and the power, our soul felt to be afraid of something. Our mind totally tells us of something within greatness is frightening.  And with my entire mind, I must say that the matter that we ought to be anxious of is losing and falling. Even if we do fear on not knowing how to manage the greatness we acquire firstly, but the end point of everything of these was being afraid of loosing and falling down from the peak of the so called “greatness.”

          All of us have, or might have full potential of being great. Some attain it with their first breath on earth simultaneously. Some got it through perseverance and determination. Some sometimes got the luck to achieve greatness entrusted with them without too much endeavor. Maybe here, some of us do, but we just don’t know how greatness entered our lives in its own simple but very wondrous ways. And I must say that it is inevitable as well. That greatness, as fear does, is inevitable. We can’t run away from it, for it will do shine its own light to see us in darkness, and break every walls ‘till there’s nowhere to hide.

          As teenagers, as young as we are, we are facing two inevitable matters, fear and greatness. It is either we let fear penetrate in us, or let greatness build ourselves into an improved and better being on earth. Above and beyond everything of these, it is a great challenge for us on how we will put some more light on it and use it for greater purpose, and for greater affairs in life.

          Once a playwright, poet, and an actor named William Shakespeare said, “Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness and others have... Greatness thrust upon then.” Friends, despite of our youth, let us not be afraid of losing and falling.  Let us face challenges. Let us face our fears. Let’s suffice what it takes to go beyond inevitableness. Let us surpass every hindrance that holds us back to achieve greatness! For fear is inevitable, greatness is inevitable, and yet, I, you, we, is more inevitable!
